The logo and flag of the Organization of Turkic States (then called Turkic Council) was presented to the public during the press conference of the Council of Foreign Ministers (CFM) prior to the II. Summit of the Organization held on 22 August 2012 in Bishkek.

The logo and flag contain the elements of the national flags of the Member States of the Organization.

Accordingly; the logo and flag consist of the star of the flag of the Republic of Azerbaijan, the blue color of the flag of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the sun of the flag of the Kyrgyz Republic and the crescent of the flag of the Republic of Türkiye.

The flag of the Organization of Turkic States, together with the flags of the Member States, was solemnly raised to the flagpole by Nursultan Nazarbayev, Founding President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, and Abdullah Gül, 11th President of the Republic of Türkiye, at the premises Organization on 12 October 2012 in Istanbul.
