11th Meeting of Council of Elders of the Turkic Council has started in Astana.
The Council of Elders of the Turkic Council, which is the permanent advisory body started its 11th Meeting on 17 August 2016 in Astana and will continue tomorrow.

Secretary General Hasanov gave interviews to TRT News Channel and İçtimai TV prior to the meeting. The participants paid their respects during a minute`s silence held in memory of the martyrs of democracy who lost their lives during the atrocious coup attempt on 15 July 2016 in the Republic of Turkey.

The two day meeting is attended by Mr. Fattah Heydarov, MP and Azerbaijani Head of the Council of Elders, Ambassador Adil Ahmetov, Former MP of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Mr. Beksultan Zhakiev, National Writer of Kyrgyz Republic, and Prof.Dr. Mustafa İsen, Sakarya MP of the Republic of Turkey. Secretary General Ambassador Ramil Hasanov is the moderator of the Meeting. Prof. Darkhan Kıdırali, President of the International Turkic Academy and Editor in Chief of Egemen Kazakhstan Newspaper also participates in the meeting.

During the Meeting, - the current status of various proposals and issues agreed in the previous meetings of the Council of Elders, - recommendations on the related activities in the context of 6th Summit of the Turkic Council as well as the 2nd World Nomad Games due to be organized in Kyrgyzstan in 2016 as well as other issues such as expanding current economic, cultural, political, educational cooperation as well as future activities of the Turkic Council were discussed by the Elders.

At the end of the Meeting a protocol will be signed containing the recommendations to be presented to the Heads of States.
