The Election Observation Mission of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS), led by the OTS Deputy Secretary Omer Kocaman as well as comprised of project directors of the OTS Secretariat and the representatives of the central election commissions of Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Türkiye and Uzbekistan, began its activities in connection with the Parliamentary (Milli Majlis) Elections in Azerbaijan.

In the framework of monitoring, the Mission held a meeting with the Chairman of the Central Election Commission of Azerbaijan Mazahir Panahov where the Azerbaijani side briefed on the preparations for the upcoming elections.

At the meeting with the registered political parties, the candidates shared their campaign activities as well as main goals.

The Mission also had a meeting with the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan Samir Sharifov where, aside from the preparatory works related with the elections, the sides had a substantial exchange of opinions regarding the current chairmanship, outcomes of the Informal Summit in Shusha as well as the upcoming meeting of Council of Heads of State in Kyrgyzstan .
