Upon the invitation of World Association of Kazakhs, the Deputy Secretary General Dr. Ömer Kocaman and Project Director Yedil Myrzakhanov attended the Grand Opening of the 5th World Kurultay of the Kazakhs under the Chairmanship of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan H.E. Nursultan Nazarbayev on 23 June 2017 in Astana.
President Nazarbayev officially opened the Kurultay and welcomed all participants coming from around the world.
Afterwards, the Head of World Association of Kazakhs Mr. Talgat Mamashev addressed the audience in his speech where he thanked the guests for attending the event and welcomed the participating delegations separately including the delegation of Turkic Council.
800 delegates and guests 350 of whom are coming from 39 countries are taking part in the Kurultay.
