6th Meeting of the Turkic Council Working Group on Tourism with the participation of tour operators from the Member States is held on 18-19 January 2016 in Istanbul. During the first day of the meeting, details of the Turkic Council Modern Silk Road Project were discussed. During the meeting Mr. Bülent Açıkgöz, UNDP Turkey Office Representative and Ms. Pelin Kıhtır Öztürk UNDP Europe and CIS Office Representative made presentations regarding tourism development projects realized by the UNDP Turkey Office.
In the second day of the meeting with the participation of the representatives from Turkish Airlines (THY), Azerbaijan Airlines (AZAL) and Kazakhstan Airlines (Air Astana) issues regarding the flight plan of the Joint Tour Package were discussed. In addition to that, vocational trainings developed in the services sector for the Member States by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of the Republic of Turkey, trainings planned to be launched for tour operators, the deepening relations between the UN World Tourism Organization and the Turkic Council as well as the joint tourism exhibitions and informational tours to be organized in the coming period were among the issues of the agenda of the meeting.
