The Council of Elders of the Turkic Council, which is the permenant advisory body, held its 8th Meeting on 27-28 October 2014 in Bishkek.
The Meeting was attended by Mr. Fattah Heydarov, MP and Azerbaijani Head of the Council of Elders, Ambassador Adil Ahmetov, Former MP, Mr. Beksultan Zhakiev, National Writer of Kyrgyz Republic, and Ambassador Metin Kılıç, Ambassador of Turkish Republic to Bishkek. Secretary General Mr. Ramil Hasanov was moderator of the Meeting.
During the Meeting,
- the current status of various proposals and issues agreed in the previous meetings of the Council of Elders was discussed
- the results of First Nomad Games held in Cholpon-Ata, Kyrgyzstan between 8 -14 September were evaluated and establishment of Nomadic Cultural Heritage Center was recommended,
- Orkhon process, the students and academics exchange program in the framework of the Turkic University Union was discussed,
- expanding current economic cooperation into other areas of cooperation was discussed,
- cooperation between Sheki, Oskemen, Osh and Bursa was discussed
At the end of the Meeting a protocol is signed containing the recommendations to be presented to the Presidents.
