The Council of Elders of the Turkic Council, which is the permenant advisory body, held its 9th Meeting on 6-7 August 2015 in Gabala, Azerbaijan.
The Meeting was attended by Mr. Fattah Heydarov, MP and Azerbaijani Head of the Council of Elders, Ambassador Adil Ahmetov, Former MP, Ambassador of Kyrgyz Republic to Baku Ajdigit Buranov on behalf of Mr. Beksultan Zhakiev, Elder from Kyrgyz Republic, and Mr. Mustafa İsen, MP of Turkish Republic. Secretary General of the Turkic Council Ambassador Ramil Hasanov was moderator of the Meeting.
During the Meeting,
- the current status of various proposals and issues agreed in the previous meetings of the Council of Elders was discussed,
- common program for secondary school 8th grade students regarding Turkic history textbook prepared by International Turkic Academy and "the Turkic States Integration Concept" was discussed,
- organization of 2nd Nomad Games in Kyrgyzstan in 2016 and establishment of International Turkic Sports and Nomadic Center was recommended,
- establishement of Diaspora Centers, participation to elections of the members states with Turkic Council observer missions as well as organization of Turkic Council University Sports Games were evaluated.
At the end of the Meeting a protocol is signed containing the recommendations to be presented to the Presidents.
It was decided to hold the next Meeting of the Council of Elders in October 2015 in Sakarya, Turkey.
