Ambassador Baghdad Amreyev was appointed as the new Secretary General of the Turkic Council Secretariat by the Council of Heads of State of the Turkic Council.

Ambassador Baghdad Amreyev was appointed as the new Secretary General of the Turkic Council Secretariat by the Council of Heads of State of the Turkic Council.
Ambassador Baghdad Amreyev, was appointed as the Secretary General of the Turkic Council Secretariat for the next three years by the Council of Heads of State during the 6th Turkic Council Summit held In Çolpon Ata on 3 September 2018.

Ambassador Amreyev who served as the Ambassador of the Republic of Kazakhstan in various countries in and outside of the region for many years, combined his deep diplomatic background with the research he made on the countries of the region, published books about the region as well as made great contributions to the summit process between 1992 and 2010, which constituted the period of intellectual formation of the Turkic Council.

Ambassador Amreyev also served as the Ambassador of the Republic of Kazakhstan in Ankara between the years 2008-2011.
