Secretary General of the Turkic Council Ambassador Ramil Hasanov who is having series of official contacts in the Republic of Azerbaijan, held a press conference on 23 August 2016 and informed the public about the activities of the Turkic Council, made evaluations regarding the current agenda of the Turkic world and answered the questions of the press members.
During the press conference which attracted much interest of members of press, Secretary General Hasanov provided comprehensive information about the preparations of the Second World Nomad Games to be held in the Kyrgyz Republic in early September 2016, the Sixth Summit of the Heads of States of the Turkic Council to be hosted by the Kyrgyz Republic in November 2016, the Youth Festival to be organized at the end of September 2016 in the city of Gence of the Republic of Azerbaijan as well as the Informal Meeting of the Council of Ministers of the Turkic Council to be organized in the margins of the UN General Assembly in September 2016. Secretary General Hasanov also gave information to the public regarding the international conference entitled “The Role of Youth in Countering Violent Extremism” to be organized jointly by the Turkic Council and the United Nations Alliance of Civilizations on 20-21 October 2016 in Istanbul as well as the ongoing and planned activities of the Turkic Council and made assessments in relation to the agenda of the member states of the Turkic Council.
In his assessments Secretary General Hasanov stated that the Armenia-Azerbaijan Nagorno-Karabakh conflict should be settled within the framework of territorial integrity and underlined that fight against terrorism should be a common action all over the world not only in our region. In this context he emphasized that as supported by all member states of the Turkic Council in a common manner, the legitimate struggle of the Republic of Turkey against the failed coup attempt of 15 July 2016 should also be supported by the world.
The Deputy Manager of Administrative and Financial Affairs of the Turkic Council Mr. Araz Salmanov is accompanying Secretary General Hasanov on his official visit to Republic of Azerbaijan.
