Secretary General Amb. Kubanychbek Omuraliev and the Ministers of Agriculture of the OTS Member States and Observers were received by the Prime Minister of the Republic of Azerbaijan H.E. Ali Asadov on 25 September 2023 in Baku.
The meeting was attended by the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Azerbaijan, H.E. Majnun Mammadov, Minister of Agriculture and Forestry of the Republic of Türkiye, H.E. İbrahim Yumakli, Minister of Agriculture of the Republic of Uzbekistan, H.E. Aziz Voitov, First Deputy Minister of Agriculture of the Kyrgyz Republic, H.E. Mr. Murat Ramatov, Deputy Minister of Agriculture of the Republic of Kazakhstan, H.E. Abilkhaiyr Tamabek and Minister of Agriculture and Natural Resources of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus, H.E. Huseyin Chavush.
Azerbaijani Prime Minister welcomed the delegation and praised the efforts made by the Secretariat and the Ministers for developing cooperation in the field of agriculture among the Member States and Observers.
The Prime Minister emphasized the importance of the 2nd Meeting of Agriculture Ministers and the 2nd Turkish Agro Business Forum held in Baku, and expressed confidence that these events will contribute to the development of cooperation in the field of agriculture between the Turkish states.
On behalf of the delegation Secretary General Kubanychbek Omuraliev appreciated Azerbaijani government for contribution in development of agriculture cooperation within OTS and stressed the importance of food security, adverse affect of the climate change to sector and maintain supply chain for essential goods in emergencies among others.
During the meeting, the Parties touched upon the future perspectives of cooperation and real agricultural projects to be implelmented within organization.
