Chairman of Council of Elders of the Organization of Turkic States H.E. Binali Yıldırım visited the Republic of Uzbekistan on 23-24 March 2022.
In Tashkent, H.E. Binali Yıldırım was received by the President of Uzbekistan, H.E. Shavkat Mirziyoyev and the Chairperson of the Senate of Uzbekistan, H.E. Tanzila Narbaeva, where Parties exchanged views on the regional and global political developments and the main cooperation fields between Uzbekistan and the OTS such as economy, transport, ICT, youth affairs, and tourism, as well as discussed the cooperation among the legislative bodies of the Member States of the OTS.
H.E. Yıldırım have also had several other ministerial meetings during his stay in Tashkent. In the Ministry of Investments and Foreign Trade, H.E. Yıldırım and Minister Umurzakov discussed the importance of increasing trade volume between the Member States of the OTS, modernizing the transport infrastructure and cooperating in the field of customs to strengthen the economic activities and investments.
At the meetings with the Minister of Transport H.E. Ilkhom Makhkamov, Minister of Development of Information Technologies and Communications H.E. Sherzod Shermatov, and Minister of Tourism and Sports H.E. Aziz Abduhakimov, Parties exchanged views on furthering cooperation in respective fields and elaborated on the concrete activities and projects to be implemented in the upcoming period.
B.Yıldırım also had meetings with the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs H.E. Vladimir Norov, and Uzbek Elder H.E. Bakhtiyor Sayfullayev where the Chairman exchanged views related to the bilateral affairs and the activities of the OTS.
OTS Deputy Secretary General Omer Kocaman also attended the program in Tashkent.
