Climate change issues and COP29 are on the Agenda of the OTS

Secretary General H.E. Ambassador Kubanychbek Omuraliev attended the Opening Ceremony of the 6th World Forum on Intercultural Dialogue in Baku, themed 'Dialogue for Peace and Global Security: Cooperation and Leadership in Interconnectivity’, under the auspices of H.E. Ilham Aliyev, President of Azerbaijan and delivered a speech at the 3rd High-level Meeting of International Organizations on the theme of "Sustainable Pathways for a Greener Future: Collaborative Actions for COP29 and Beyond" within Forum on held on 1 May, 2024 in Baku.

Secretary General noted the importance of strengthening the global and regional response to the threat of climate change in terms of sustainable development and green future. 

Emphasizing the vulnerability of the OTS region to natural disasters and to climate change consequences, he underlined the key role of the upcoming COP29 Summit for the whole world community including the Turkic States which will be held in November 2024 in Baku, Azerbaijan. He also met  with high-level government officials, heads of international organizations and exchanged views on ongoing cooperation activities.
