The Closing Ceremony of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS) Turkic World Tourism Capital initiative for the year 2023 was held in Shamakhi, Azerbaijan on 26 December 2023 and the symbolic key was handed over to Turkistan, Kazakhstan Turkic World Tourism Capital for the year 2024.
The ceremony was hosted by the State Tourism Agency of the Republic of Azerbaijan and attended by the representatives from the OTS Secretariat, relevant Tourism Ministries/Authorities of the Member and Observer States as well as governorship of Shamakhi and Turkistan.
The delegation was also received by the Governor of Shamakhi District, Mr. Tahir Mammadov.
During the year 2023, several events was organized in Shamakhi to increase tourism potential of the city.
Turkistan, will hold the title OTS Turkic World Tourism Capital for the year 2024 and host various local/international activities in the field of tourism.
