Closing Ceremony of the Turkic Council Junior Diplomats 6th Joint Training Program took place at ADA University in Baku on 22 May 2019.
Turkic Council Junior Diplomats 6th Joint Training Program ended with a closing ceremony, which was attended by Secretary General of the Turkic Council Baghdad Amreyev, Deputy Foreign minister of Azerbaijan, Rector of Azerbaijan Diplomatic Academy Ambassador Hafiz Pashayev, Ambassador of Kazakhstan Beibit Issabayev, Ambassador of Turkey Erkan Özoral, Ambassador of Hungary Viktor Szederkenyi, Ambassador of Turkmenistan Mekan Ishanguliyev, Chargé d’Affaires of the Embassy of Kyrgyzstan Bakyt Usupov, as well as Faculty Member of Galatasaray University Prof. Ilber Ortayli. 


Secretary General of the Turkic Council, H.E. Baghdad Amreyev in his address at the ceremony underlined the significance that the member countries attach to organizing this comprehensive annual training program that brings together young diplomats from Turkic Council Member States and brother countries; Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan and Hungary and provides them with the opportunity. He expressed in this respect gratitude to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan and ADA University for their valuable contributions to the program and excellent cooperation with the Secretariat. 


Secretary General pointed out that experienced senior officials, ambassadors, academicians and scholars from brother countries have equipped the participating diplomats with necessary tools to face the challenges of modern diplomacy and shared their knowledge on foreign policy, history and culture of the Turkic-speaking States. He also expressed confidence that the program will open up great prospects and contribute to the professional career of the young diplomats. 


Deputy Foreign Minister of Azerbaijan, Rector of ADA University, Amb. Hafiz Pashayev said that the University had the pleasure of organizing this joint diplomatic program together with the Turkic Council Secretariat for the second time during which the young diplomats have had a lot of interesting lectures on a variety of important themes. He advised young diplomats to maintain the brotherly relations that they had established in the framework of this program and wished success in their future endeavors. 


As a guest of honor, distinguished historian, Prof. Ilber Ortayli has also given a lecture to junior diplomats on the Turkic world and historical background of today’s relations in the region, which was followed by a Q&A session. 


Ambassadors of the participating countries emphasized in their remarks the importance of the program in terms of establishing future professional contacts, as well as contributing to the relations among the Turkic Speaking States. 


At the end of the ceremony, junior diplomats of Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Turkey, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan and Hungary have been awarded with certificates for their successful completion. 


The Program will continue with visits to national monuments and historical sites in Gabala and Sheki between 23 and 25 May 2019.
