Competition Council of Turkic States inaugurated in Istanbul
Deputy Secretary General of the Organization of Turkic States Mr. Merey Mukazhan addressed the 1st meeting of the Council of Competition Authorities of Turkic States hosted by President of the Turkish Competition Authority Mr. Birol Küle and attended by heads of competition authorities of the OTS Member States and Observers on 23 January 2024 in Istanbul.

At the inaugural gathering Deputy Secretary General Merey Mukazhan welcomed the formation of a new cooperation platform under the OTS and emphasized importance of the establishment of the Competition Council, which lies in line with the Turkic World Vision-2040, OTS Strategy for 2022-2026 and the TURKTIME motto of the Kazakh Chairmanship at the OTS.

Having underlined the increasing role of the OTS in the region, the Minister of Trade of the Republic of Türkiye Prof. Dr. Ömer Bolat welcomed the opportunities to be provided by TURAN Special Economic Zone as well as the Turkic Investment Fund. 

During the meeting the sides shared on their activities and prospects for cooperation.
The next meeting of the Council of Competition Authorities of Turkic States decided to be held in Azerbaijan.

On the margins of the meeting OTS Deputy Secretary General held bilateral meetings with a number of heads of competition authorities of the Member States.
