We are deeply saddened to learn the loss of life and destruction wrought by the magnitude 6.6 earthquake that hit Turkey’s city of İzmir today.

In this time of grief, the Turkic Council expresses its solidarity with the brotherly people and government of  the Republic of Turkey,  conveys its most sincere condolences to the families of victims and wishes a speedy recovery to all injured. 

We are confident the strength and resilience of the Turkish people will carry them through this catastrophe.
