Conference on the Organization of Turkic States in Ibn Khaldun University

Haydar Aliyev Center for Eurasian Studies of Ibn Khaldun University organized a conference on the theme “The Vision of the Organization of Turkic States and the Role of the Council of Elders” in Istanbul on 24 May 2022. 

The event was attended by the Chairman of the Council of Elders of the OTS H.E. Binali Yıldırım, the Deputy Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Ibn Haldun University Mr. Necmeddin Bilal Erdoğan, Deputy Secretary General of the Organization of Turkic States Mr. Ömer Kocaman, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Ahmet Yesevi University Prof. Dr. Muhittin Şimşek, President of Ibn Khaldun University Prof. Dr. Atilla Arkan, Head of the Haydar Aliyev Center for Eurasian Studies Prof. Dr. Yaşar Sarı, academicians, bureaucrats and students.

The Chairman of the Council of Elders H.E. Binali Yıldırım briefed the audience on the activities of the Council of Elders of the Organization of Turkic States. 

Underlining the importance and relevance of the Organization as strong common structure of the Turkic States B.Yıldırım emphasized specific cooperation areas of the Organization such as trade, transport and economy. 

Addressing the conference, the Deputy Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Ibn Haldun University Mr. Necmeddin Bilal Erdoğan expressed his pleasure to see that the fraternal relations arising from the common history, culture and language unity among the brotherly Turkic states have turned into a cooperation mechanism that produces concrete benefits for everyone, thanks to the Organization of Turkic States. Mr. Erdoğan added that the cooperation between universities and the youth of the Turkic States should be strengthened and Ibn Haldun University is taking necessary steps to establish academic collaborations in the upcoming period.

In his speech, Deputy Secretary General Dr. Ömer Kocaman informed the audience about the current undertakings of the Organization of Turkic States, underscored the historic decisions taken in the last Summit of the Heads of State in Istanbul and the future prospects of multifaceted cooperation among the Member and Observer States of the OTS.
