Congratulatory message of the Secretary General of the Turkic Council on the occasion of 23 October National Day of Hungary;
On behalf of the Turkic Council and on my own behalf, I would like to congratulate Hungary's National Day and convey my sincere wishes for the continued development and prosperity of Hungary and its friendly people.
Since Hungary joined the Turkic Council as an observer member at the Cholpon-Ata Summit in 2018, relations between Hungary and Turkic Council Member States have continued to increase rapidly, and today Hungary has become the integral part of the Turkic Council.
The Turkic Council's European Office, which was opened in September 2019 under the patronage of Prime Minister Victor Orban, with an official ceremony attended by the Foreign Ministers of Member States and Hungary, ensured the institutional presence of the Turkic World in Europe and considerably strengthened European dimension of activities of the Turkic Council.
In this capacity, European Office of the Turkic Council aims to improve the relations of the Turkic Council with Hungary as well as strengthen its ties with European countries, the EU, OSCE and Visegrad Group. The office will organize and support programs and projects in political, economic, historical, cultural and other areas of mutual interest, and will facilitate the promotion of cooperation between the business communities of the Member States and Hungary.
On the other hand, in the period following the outbreak of the pandemic, the Turkic Council countries displayed an exemplary solidarity and supported each other by providing medical supplies, information and know how. In his statement referring to this strong solidarity, Hungarian Minister of Foreign Affairs Peter Szijjártó stated that “Real friends show up in times of trouble”, which I think reflects the essence of the strong cooperation within the Turkic World.
In the light of the new strategy of the Turkic Council for the years 2020-2025 and the Turkic Council Vision 2040, I sincerely believe that the brotherly ties between the Turkic Council and Hungary and the partnership and cooperation built on solid foundations will continue to strengthen in the years ahead towards the closer cooperation and deeper integration.
On the occasion of this important day, I congratulate our Observer Member State Hungary and the Hungarian people once again and present my heartfelt greetings.
