Since its establishment, Turkmenistan has made significant progress in strengthening state institutions, increasing the welfare of its people and raising the country's position in the international arena. The Turkic world is glad and proud of the solid and steady development of Turkmenistan, which comprehends the 25th anniversary of its neutrality this year.
Turkmenistan is an inseparable part of the Turkic world. While Turkmenistan and the Turkic Council member states have been dynamically intensifying their cooperation in line with the historical partnership, mutual respect and understanding principles based on the centuries-old bonds, the fraternal relations between our countries have gained a new momentum and dimension in the last couple of years.
The meeting held with the President of Turkmenistan, H.E. Gurbanguli Berdimuhamedov, within the scope of my official visit to Turkmenistan in June this year upon his invitation, constituted an important step towards strengthening the ties of friendship between our peoples and provided the opportunity to get the valuable views of His Excellency regarding deepening the cooperation between our countries in various fields.
The Turkic Council, which draws its strength from the common historical and cultural values of the Turkic peoples and is the embodiment of cooperation and solidarity among brotherly Turkic States, continues its activities with greater enthusiasm and support.
On the occasion of this historical day, I convey my most sincere congratulations to the people of Turkmenistan and wish them a prosperous future.
