Congratulatory Message of the Secretary General on the occasion of 96th anniversary of the foundation of the Republic of Turkey

Congratulatory Message of the Secretary General on the occasion of 96th anniversary of the foundation of the Republic of Turkey
On behalf of the Turkic Council and on my own behalf, I wholeheartedly congratulate the people and the government of Turkey on the auspicious occasion of Turkey’s ninety-sixth Republic Day.
Quoted as “my greatest achievement” by Gazi Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, Turkey has reached today its 96th year. Following its War of Independence, the declaration of the Republic has opened a new chapter in the direction of progress for Turkey, which has set a model for many other nations around the world.
Since then, with its growing economy, strong democracy, commitment to fundamental human values, and principled and visionary foreign policy, Turkey has continued to be a source of inspiration for its region and the world.
Hence, we also proudly witness that Turkey has gained a distinctive place in the international political arena by taking steps towards ensuring peace and security in its region and beyond.
As the Turkic Council, we enjoy the continuous support and assistance of Turkey, which is not only a founding state of the Turkic Council, but also our host country that welcomes and procures with generosity the premises of the Turkic Council in its centuries-old city, Istanbul.
Turkic Council will continue to work for further strengthening the ties among our countries through shared efforts in pursuit of a peaceful and prosperous future for the Turkic world. Our common values and rich history will keep shedding light to our endeavors to this end.
With these thoughts, I congratulate once again the Republic Day of Turkey and wish peace and prosperity to the Turkish people.
