The President of the Kyrgyz Republic, H.E. Sadyr Japarov, received the members of the Council of Elders and the Secretary General of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS), H.E. Bagdad Amreyev in the framework of the 13th Meeting of Council of Elders on August 8, 2022, in Bishkek.
The meeting was attended by H.E. Binali Yıldırım, Chairman of the Council of Elders, MP and former Speaker of Grand National Assembly and Prime Minister of the Republic of Türkiye, H.E. Hasan Hasanov, Former Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan, H.E. Ikram Adyrbek, Member of the Council of Senators of the Senate of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan and Member of Public Council of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan, H.E. Medetkhan Sherimkulov, Former Speaker of the Parliament of the Kyrgyz Republic, H.E. Bakhtiyor Sayfullayev, Chairman of the Senate Committee of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan on Youth, Culture and Sport, and H.E. Rejep Bazarov, Vice-President of the Humanitarian Association of the World Turkmens, Executive Director of Charitable Foundation named after Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov for Assisting Children in need of Guardianship.
H.E. Sadyr Japarov stressed in his address to the Council members the significance of the activity of the Council of Elders in this critical period of growing cooperation among fraternal Turkic countries in the framework of the OTS. The President underlined that the participating states would use the Elders' wisdom to enrich the Organization's potential, which should be one of the strongest associations in the world, so that future generations could proudly carry the flag of the Organization. He also share with the Council members his vision of the Turkic cooperation and the future of the OTS.
In turn, the Elders, thanking the Head of Kyrgyz State for the warm welcome, expressed their appreciation for the significant contribution of H.E. Sadyr Japarov and the Kyrgyz government to the continuous development of the Organization. They stressed the need to strengthen the political, economic, cultural, and humanitarian ties among the Turkic States and assured President Japarov of their resolve to contribute achieving the highest goals of the Turkic States.
Speaking in the meeting, Secretary General of the OTS H.E. Baghdad Amreyev briefed the President on the preparations, agenda, and important documents of the upcoming 9th Summit of the OTS and shared with His Excellency information about the ongoing activities of the Organization.
During the meeting, Binali Yildirim, Chairman of the Council of Elders of the Organization of Turkic States, was awarded the "Danaker" Order for his outstanding contribution to strengthening friendship and cooperation between the Kyrgyz Republic and the Republic of Türkiye.
