Delegation of the Turkic Council Election Observer Mission met with the Chairman of the Central Election Commission of the Kyrgyz Republic
The delegation of the Turkic Council Observer Mission headed by the Deputy Secretary General Dr. Omer Kocaman met with the Chairman of Central Election Commission of the Kyrgyz Republic Nurzhan Shaydalbekova on 10 December 2016, in the framework of the International Observation Mission of the Turkic Council at the Referendum on the amendments to the Constitution of the Kyrgyz Republic to be held on 11 December 2016.
The Chairman expressed gratitude for kind acceptance of the invitation of the Turkic Council and gave the information on the work done by the Central Election Commission concerning the preparation of the Referendum and reiterated the new reforms in the electoral process. She also mentioned about the draft law submitted to the Parliament, which shall improve the electoral process in general.
Deputy Secretary General informed the Chairman about the activities of the Turkic Council in all fields including previous observer missions and wished success in the upcoming referendum.
In the course of the meeting, the Chairman answered the questions raised by the members of the delegation.
After the meeting, the delegation participated in the roundtable under the topic of "Election Reforms in the Kyrgyz Republic: Achievement and Future Development".
Following the roundtable, the delegates attended the official reception hosted by the Central Election Commission of the Kyrgyz Republic in honor of international observers.
