Deputy Secretary General Abzal Saparbekuly participated on 30 March 2016 in the UNOSSC Capacity Building Workshop in New York and had bilateral meetings on the margins of the event.

On the margins of his working visit to New York, Deputy Secretary General of the Turkic Council Abzal Saparbekuly participated in the Capacity Building Workshop of the United Nations Office for South South Cooperation (UNOSSC) on 30 March 2016. After screening the promotional video of the Turkic Council, Deputy Secretary General Saparbekuly made a presentation informing the audience on the activities of the Turkic Council promoting the south south cooperation in the field of tourism and other relevant areas. On 31 March 2016, he had a bilateral meeting with Mr. Jorge Chediek, Envoy of the UN Secretary-General on South-South Cooperation and Director of UNOSSC where they discussed the action plan to be prepared and implemented after the signing ceremony of the MoU between their institutions on 4 April 2016 in Istanbul. Following the meeting, Deputy Secretary General Saparbekuly had other bilateral meetings on 31 March 2016 with the representatives of the Islamic Development Bank and other national delegations participating in the UNOSSC capacity building workshop.
