Deputy Secretary General Gismat Gozalov participated in the Nevruz celebration program organized by Turkish National Commission of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) on 21 March 2019.
The Deputy Secretary General of the Turkic Council Gismat Gozalov participated in the Nevruz celebration program entitled "Nevruz: Last Decade of Protection and Transfer" organized on the occasion of the 70th anniversary of the founding of Turkish National Commission for United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) and the 10th anniversary of inclusion of Nevruz in the UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage List. The  Deputy Foreign Minister Yavuz Selim Kiran, Head of the UNESCO National Commission of Turkey Dr. Öcal Oğuz, Deputy Minister of Culture and Tourism Dr. Haluk Dursun, Deputy Minister of National Education Dr. Mustafa Safran, representatives of diplomatic missions, bureaucrats, academicians, press members and invited guests attended the meeting.
In the meeting part of the program, the place and importance of Nevruz in our cultural heritage were discussed by the speakers. In his speech, Deputy Foreign Minister Kıran stated that Nevruz is celebrated as a symbol of tolerance and hope, unity and solidarity around the world. Chairman of UNESCO Turkish National Committee Prof. Dr. Öcal Oğuz stated that the UN General Assembly Recognized 21March as International Day of Nowruz on May 2010, and countries including China, Greece and Russia celebrated the Nevruz with their potential internal dynamics.
The singer İrfan Güldal presented a saz concert and the program ended with the opening of the exhibition entitled Nevruz: Last Decade of Protection and Transfer.
