Deputy Secretary General of the Turkic Council Abzal Saparbekuly attended an international open seminar entitled “Topical Issues of Translation in Turkology” and a round table meeting on “The Prominent Figures of the Turkic World: Khoja Akhmet Yassawi and Yusuf Has Hajib” organized by the International Turkic Academy (TWESCO) in the framework of the ongoing “Eurasian Book Fair – 2016” taking place in Astana.
The seminar participants discussed the role of the translation in the unification of the Turkic World and ancient Turkic heritage. The participants also addressed to the contemporary issues of scientific translation and the raising and bringing up of interpreter experts of the field.
In addition, the scientific publications contributing to the development of the art of translation in the Turkic World and published by TWESCO were introduced to the public.
The speakers of the other meeting shared their valuable thoughts on the impact that the works of Khoja Akhmet Yassawi and Yusuf Has Hajib had on world culture and on research history as a whole.
