On 14 March 2024, an online meeting of the Sub-Working Group on Digitalization was convened, with the participation of officials and experts from the Transport Ministries of OTS Member States.
The parties exchanged views on recent developments regarding the extension of the "ePermit" project in the Turkic region in accordance with the Transport Connectivity Program and its Action Plan for 2023-2026.
During the meeting, experts emphasized that in the Astana Declaration, Heads of State endorsed continued efforts within the OTS for the digitalization of transport and transit procedures. They expressed satisfaction with the operationalization of the "ePermit" project between Türkiye and Uzbekistan and encouraged relevant institutions in Member States to implement the project, drawing from the experiences of both countries.
In this regard, the parties also engaged in discussions and identified further steps necessary for the implementation of the project between Azerbaijan and Türkiye, Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan, and Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan.
