Economic and Trade Potential of the OTS Region Promoted in Spain
The Spanish confederation of Business Organizations (CEOE) hosted the "Presentation of the Organization of Turkic States on Economic and Trade Cooperation" and participated by the Embassies of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS) Member States and Observers, namely Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Türkiye, Uzbekistan, and Hungary in Madrid on 16 May 2024.
The event aimed to highlight the economic and trade cooperation opportunities within the OTS region for over 200 sectoral and regional organizations affiliated with CEOE, as well as large companies across Spain.
Distinguished speakers including Ms. Marta Blanco, President of the International Relations Committee of CEOE, H.E. Ambassador Kubanychbek Omuraliev, the OTS Secretary General, H.E. Mr. Danat Musayev, Ambassador of Kazakhstan to Spain, H.E. Ambassador Gökhan Turan, Director General for Central Asia and the OTS of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Türkiye, and Ms. Alicia Varela, Director General for International Trade and Investment of the Secretariat of State for Trade of Spain, delivered welcoming remarks.
During the event, presentations were made by the OTS Secretary General, the President of the Turkic Investment Fund (TIF), and the Secretary General of the Turkic Chamber of Commerce and Industry (TCCI), focusing on the economic, trade, financial, and investment potential of the Turkic region.

H.E. Ambassador Kubanychbek Omuraliev emphasized the historical significance and ongoing impact of Turkic peoples on global trade and cultural exchanges. He highlighted the region's diverse economic landscape, abundant natural resources, strategic location, young population, emerging markets, innovative industries, and entrepreneurial spirit.

The OTS Secretary General also provided detailed insights into the vast economic potential of the OTS region, expressing confidence that the event would strengthen enhanced engagement and cooperation between Turkic States and the Spanish business community.
