The meeting was hosted by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan, H.E. Elmar Mammadyarov and attended by Secretary General of the Turkic Council Baghdad Amreyev, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan Mukhtar Tileuberdi, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic Chingiz Aidarbekov, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Turkey Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan Abdulaziz Kamilov and Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade of Hungary Levente Magyar.
The extraordinary CFM meeting aimed at following-up and facilitating the implementation of the decisions of the Heads of States taken at Baku Summit in October 2019 as well as preparations of the forthcoming Turkic Council to be organized in Turkey in October 2020.
The Ministers discussed the current agenda of the Turkic Council; particularly increasing cooperation opportunities among the Member States in various areas, developing relations with partner countries and international organizations, empowering the Organization, operationalization of its Representation Office in Budapest and reinforcing administrative capacity of the Secretariat.
The Ministers also exchanged views on other important issues that are decisive for the long-term strategies of the Turkic Council, such as establishment of the Turkic Investment Fund, full activation of the Turkic Chamber of Commerce and Industry (TCCI) and creation of Turkic Trade Houses (TTH) and realization of infrastructure and transportation projects in the Member States.
Foreign Ministers also elaborated on the preparation, a strategic program determining long-term goals to ensure better cooperation and deeper integration in the Member States based on Turkic Vision 2025 that was included into the agenda of the Organization in the last Summit.
Ministers signed requisite documents of the Turkic Academy and the Turkic Culture and Heritage Foundation for their full operationalization.
Foreign Ministers of the Member States expressed their satisfaction with the implementation of the current agenda of the Organization and reiterated their determination for the continuation of deeper cooperation among the Member States within the framework of the Turkic Council.
