First Meeting of Ministers of Turkic Council in Charge of Tourism will be held in Istanbul on 11 April 2014.
Minister of Tourism and Culture of the Republic of Turkey Ömer Çelik will host First Meeting of Ministers in Charge of Tourism of the Turkic Council planned to be held on April 11, 2014 in Istanbul. A day before Ministerial Meeting, relevant Ministry officials together with private sector representatives will participate at the Second Meeting of the Working Group on Tourism Cooperation of the Turkic Council. 

The process of tourism cooperation within the Turkic Council has been initiated following determination of the theme of the Fourth Summit of Turkic Council Heads of State which will be held in Turkey in June 2014.

Improving cooperation in all fields of tourism between Member States of Turkic Council which are located on the historic Silk Road, strengthening cultural and historic heritage with its natural beauty of Member States are among the current targets of the Turkic Council within the scope of tourism cooperation. 

Promotion of a joint tourist package of the historical Silk Road in collaboration with the private sector, launching of joint vocational trainings, organisation of tourism exhibitions in Member States and in third countries, realisation of tourism information tours, cooperation with regional and international organizations in the field of tourism are the main issues on the agenda of the Turkic Council. 

These areas of cooperation are reflected in the "Joint Cooperation Protocol on Tourism Cooperation between the Member States of Turkic Council" to be signed during the Ministerial Meeting on April 11, 2014.

Along with the Joint Cooperation Protocol, decisions of the Ministerial Meeting will be presented to Forth Summit of Heads of State.
