First Meeting of the Working Group on Information and Communication Technologies was held in Baku.
First Meeting of the Working Group on Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) was hosted by the Ministry of Communications and High Technologies of the Republic of Azerbaijan on 28 November 2016 in Baku.
During the meeting, moderated by Deputy Secretary General Dr. Ömer Kocaman, participants from the relevant authorities of the Member States made presentations on the current state of affairs in the field of ICT in their respective countries and discussed the opportunities for multilateral cooperation mechanisms.
They decided to exchange experience and information through training programs, workshops and other activities in the field of ICT. At the meeting such topics as broadband connectivity, e-government, cyber security and satellite communication, as well as to make efforts to materialize the TASIM project were discussed in detail.
Parties also agreed to support one another within the framework of international organizations and meetings in the field of ICT through developing preliminary joint coordination through the Secretariat of Turkic Council.
Rules of Procedure of the Working Group was finalized and agreed by the parties to be submitted to the Ministers in charge of ICT on 29 November 2016 for adoption.
Project Directors Farid Damirli, Ali Çiviler, Yedil Myrzakhanov, Zhyldyz Uzakova and Research Expert Dastan Almen participated in the Working Group meeting.
