During the visit, Member of the Council of Elders İsen presented the report of the Parliamentary Investigation Commission on the identification of cultural assets abducted abroad, the provision for the return of the said assets to their home country and the indication of the measures to be taken for the protection of existing cultural assets. Involved in the Investigation Commission himself, Isen briefed on the developments of the subject and noted that the protection of cultural assets is especially important for the Turkic Republics.
General Secretary Hasan welcomed the study and conveyed to Member of the Council of Elders İsen that the issue would be addressed to the relevant and appropriate institutions operating under the roof of the Turkic Council in various fields of cooperation such as TURKSOY, TURKPA, Turkic Academy and Turkic Culture and Heritage Foundation. The matter will also be addressed to the relevant departments of the Ministries of Member States and to the national commissions and committees of the UNESCO member countries. Secretary General Hasan also expressed his opinion on the need for joint planning and coordination in promoting such qualitative studies within the UNESCO.
At the end of the meeting, a family photo for the memory of the day was taken. Then, the parties exchanged gifts while Member of the Council of Elders İsen presented a dossier (document) to Secretary General Hasan on the topic of the meeting, which also included the mentioned report of the Parliamentary Research Commission.
Turkic Council Deputy Secretary General Dr. Ömer Kocaman accompanied Secretary General Ambassador Ramil Hasan during the meeting.
