Hosted by Ambassador Vural Altay, Director General for Bilateral Political Affairs (Caucasus, Central Asia and Eastern Europe) of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Turkey and moderated by Abzal Saparbekuly, Deputy Secretary General of the Turkic Council, the Third Round of the Security Consultations of the Turkic Council was held on 9 February 2016 in Ankara.

Officials from the relevant Departments of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Turkey, Ambassadors and perpersentatives of the Turkic Council Members States in Ankara and the experts of institutions involved in the field of security from Turkey participated in the meeting.

Regional developments in the security field, the fight against terrorism and transboundary threats, the problems in the Middle East and foreign terrorist fighters as well as ituation in Afghanistan were among the issues discussed at the meeting.

The Turkic Council delegation participated in the Meeting composed of Turkic Council Deputy Secretary General Dr. Ömer Kocaman, Project Directors Zamin Aliyev, Pelin Musabay Baki, Zhyldyz Uzakova and Yedil Myrzakhanov.
