Legal framework for “E-Permit” project among Turkic States established during the Shusha Summit
On the sidelines of the meeting of Council of Heads of State during the Informal Summit of the Organization of Turkic States held on 6 July 2024in Shusha, the Ministers of Transport of the OTS countries signed the Memorandum of Understanding regarding cooperation and use of Electronic Permit (E-Permit) in International Road Transport Operations.

This MoU establishes a legal framework for the E-Permit project, which aims to digitalize and streamline road transport procedures among the Turkic States. The project is expected to facilitate smoother border crossings, reduce administrative costs, and eliminate issues related to physical permits such as loss or misuse.

The E-Permit project represents a significant step towards digitalization in transport operations, enhancing transparency, accountability, and efficiency in cross-border logistics and aligns with the broader goals of the OTS to foster transport connectivity in line with the "Turkic World Vision-2040".
