“Making the Nomad Tent” and “Performance of the Kazakh Kui on Dombra” was included in the UNESCO list.
The joint nomination by Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan “Traditional Knowledge of Making Nomad’s Tent” (“Kiiz Uy” in Kazakhstan and “Boz Uy” in Kyrgyzstan), as well as Kazakhstan’s nomination “Art of Performing a Traditional Dombra Kui” was included in the UNESCO representative list. The final decision was made at the meeting of the Intergovernmental Committee for the Safeguarding of the Intangible Cultural Heritage on 26 November 2014 in Paris.

It should be noted that in 2015 the UNESCO will also consider another joint nomination of the two countries the national equestrian game called “Kokpar” in Kazakhstan and “Kok-Boru” in Kyrgyzstan. The game, which might be played both on individual and team basis, implies that the riders compete for a goat carcass trying to throw it into the gate of the opposing side.
