Media Tour for the journalists of the Member and Observer States of the Turkic Council to Azerbaijan   started in Baku.

A Media Tour for the journalists of the Member and Observer States of the Turkic Council to the Republic of Azerbaijan organized by the Turkic Council Secretariat in cooperation with the Azerbaijani side started on  30 August 2021.

The Tour is carried out in line with the decisions taken at the 3rd Meeting of the Ministers and High Officials in Charge of Information and Media of the Turkic Council held on 10 May 2021 in Baku and 1st Meeting of the Media Coordination Committee of the Turkic Council held on 29 July 2021 in Istanbul.

During the first day of the Media Tour, around 30 journalists from Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Turkey, Uzbekistan and Hungary  visited cultural and historical sites as well as museums in Baku. They also received by Mr.Hikmet Hajiyev, assistant of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan and Head of Foreign Policy Affairs Department of the Presidential Administration and exchanged views on further development of the media relations among media representatives of the Turkic Council.

The following two days, the journalists will visit Ganja, the second biggest city of Azerbaijan, and liberated cities from Armenian occupation - Aghdam, Shusha, Jabrayil and Zangilan to witness 30 years of looting and destruction of the cultural and historic heritage belonging to the Azerbaijani people, as well as Turkic and Islamic World.

The Media Tour will end on September 3rd with a visit to the Palace of Shirvanshahs and attending a Concert Program dedicated to the 880th anniversary of the great Azerbaijani poet Nizami Ganjavi in Baku.
