Meeting of the Executive body of the Diaspora Regional Centre held under the chairmanship of the Secretary General Ambassador Ramil Hasanov was convened on 26 December 2016 in the Turkic Council Kiev Regional Diaspora Center.
The representatives of the Embassies of Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan and Turkey in Ukraine, the representative from the Presidency for Turks abroad and Related Communities and the members of the Executive body participated at the meeting.
The meeting started with the opening statement of the Secretary General Ambassador Ramil Hasanov who gave information about the Turkic Council and its activities, as well as the endeavors of the organization in the field of Diaspora carried out so far.
After Secretary General Hasanov, Executive Secretary of the Turkic Council Kiev Regional Diaspora Center Hikmat Javadov, President of the “Dostyk” Kazakh Cultural Center Dzhamil Ayazbayev, Chairman of the Diaspora of Kyrgyzstan in Ukraine Sherali Janaliev and Mehmet Aktas, the representative of the Embassy of Turkey delivered their speeches stressing the importance of the coordination among diasporas.
In accordance with the Charter of the Turkic Council Regional Centres adopted in 2014 by the Contact Group on diaspora affairs, the Executive Secretary of the Centre was replaced by Dzhamil Ayazbayev, President of the “Dostyk” Kazakh Cultural Center for the next one year by alphabetic order. The Secretary General and the members of the Executive body expressed their gratitudes for the work done by Hikmat Javadov and wished successes in his future activities.
The Executive body discussed the ways how to create more effective diaspora organization to adapt the Turkic Speaking Diaspora to the changing conditions in Ukraine and the plan of activities for 2017.
Project Directors Zamin Aliyev and Yedil Myrzakhanov accompanied the Secretary General Hasanov at the meeting.
