Message of Ambassador Ramil Hasanov, Secretary General of the Turkic Council, on the Occasion of ‘Day of the Founding President of the Republic of Kazakhstan’
On the occasion of the “Day of the Founding President of the Republic of Kazakhstan” I would like to present my congratulations on behalf of the Turkic Council Secretariat and on my own.

On December 1, 1991 the Republic of Kazakhstan for the first time in the history had nation-wide elections for presidency. As a result H.E. Nursultan Nazarbayev was elected as Kazakhstan’s first President by an overwhelming majority of the population. A little over two weeks later, Kazakhstan declared its independence.
Since the time of winning back its independence, Kazakhstan has achieved under the leadership of its President Nursultan Nazarbayev tremendous results in statehood formation, strengthening the unity of nation, strong market economy and foundation of welfare state.

Also the President of Kazakhstan N.Nazarbayev played and continue to play a significant role in strengthening the cooperation among Turkic speaking states, as well as in the process of consolidating the Turkic world. Today by strong support of heads of states of the Turkic Council the International Organization of Turkic Culture  (TURKSOY) in Ankara, Parliamentary Assembly of Turkic-Speaking Countries (TurkPA) in Baku, the Cooperation Council of Turkic-Speaking States (Turkic Council) in Istanbul and Turkic Academy in Astana are functioning.

On this important occasion, on behalf of the Secretariat of Turkic Council and on my own, I would like to join in celebration of the Day of the Founding President of the Republic of Kazakhstan and wish peace, prosperity and happiness to the people of Kazakhstan.
