The national army of the Republic of Azerbaijan was officially established on June 26, 1918 and this date was dedicated to the Armed Forces of Azerbaijan by the decree issued by the National Leader of the Republic of Azerbaijan Heydar Aliyev.

I would like to convey my sincere wishes on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the foundation of the Armed Forces of Azerbaijan, which continues to be the assurance of the independence of the country and the prosperity and tranquility of the Azerbaijani people. I wish the Republic of Azerbaijan will dwell forever, with its army, with its people and with its land.
