Mr. Abdullah Eren, Head of the Presidency for Turks Abroad and Related Communities (YTB) visited the Secretary General of the Turkic Council Ambassador Baghdad Amreyev on 24 September 2018 at the Turkic Council premises.

Mr. Eren congratulated Secretary General Amreyev and wished him success in his term of office. He gave the Secretary General brief information about the activities of Presidency for Turks Abroad and Related Communities and stated that they follow activities of the Turkic Council very closely.

Secretary General Baghdad Amreyev thanked Mr. Eren for his kind visit and extended his wishes of congratulation for his appointment as the President of YTB. The parties discussed the ongoing relations between the two organizations and evaluated possible ways of further cooperation. They specifically exchanged views on the 3rd meeting of Ministers/Heads of Institutions in charge of Diaspora of the Turkic Council planned to be held on 8 November 2018 in Turkey and the 2nd Turkic Council Diaspora Forum to be organized in Turkey in 2019. The content and participation for both events were elaborated by the sides. Parties further discussed the Turkic Speaking Joint Activity Strategy and the Joint Action Plan for 2018-2019 in the face of the changes taking place in the world and the lives of the Turkic Speaking diasporas. The Secretariat and YTB agreed to intensify cooperation for the preparation of above-mentioned two events.

Secretary General Amreyev also provided information about the ongoing activities and planned projects of the Turkic Council. Deputy Secretary General Dr. Ömer Kocaman and Project Director Ali Çiviler accompanied the Secretary General at the meeting.
