On 9 May 2016 within the framework of the project "Turkic Council Modern Silk Road Tour Package" information tour in Azerbaijan kicked off. Delegations consisted from representative of government, private and media of the Member States participated in this information tour. Delegations will visit Ganja, Sheki, Shamaxa and Baku. Upon completion of said tour results will be presented to the Member States.

The Organization of Turkic States was established in 2009 as an intergovernmental organization. Its primary objective is to foster comprehensive cooperation among Turkic States.
