Organization of Turkic States participated at the International Day of Turkic Language
Deputy Secretary General of the Organization of Turkic States, Sultanbay Raev took part in the "International Day of the Turkic Language" held on December 15, 2021, organized by the Turkish National Commission for UNESCO.
The online meeting, led by Director of Altay Dilmer, Prof. Dr. Nergis Biray, was attended by Hihl level officials from Ministries of Foreign Affairs and Education of the member states, representatives of the UNESCO National Commission, TURKSOY, TURKPA, Turkic Academy, Turkic Culture and Heritage Foundation, and Presidency for Turks Abroad and Related Communities, as well as the professors, rectors, scientists, researchers and representatives of embassies from Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Turkey, Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan.
Participants had productive discussions and emphasized the importance of cooperation in the field of strengthening the Turkic languages which ensure unity among Turkic nations.  The speeches also presented the history of the Turkic languages and various projects that will serve as a unifying factor not only for mutual understanding and cooperation between the peoples of the Turkic world, but also for the cohesive nature of the people and the spiritual relationship of societies.
In his speech, Deputy Secretary General Sultanbay Raev underlined the importance of the Turkic languages as playing a significant role in the formation of national identity and character and noted that during the 8th Summit of the Organization, the regulations on the Alisher Navoi International Prize was signed and the Turkic Vision 2040 document has entered into force.  On behalf of the Organization, he congratulated the official proclamation of the "Day of the Turkic Language" at the international level and expressed the readiness of the OTS to contribute to the development, integration and strengthening of the values of the Turkic language.
