OTS Expert meetings on “Establishment of Digital Agro-Data Platform” and “OTS Made” projects were organized in Guba

The expert meetings of the OTS Member and Observer States on the projects "Establishment of Digital Agro-Data Platform" and "OTS Made" were convened from 16 to 19 July 2024 by the OTS Secretariat and the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Azerbaijan in the city of Guba, the Capital of Agriculture of the Turkic World for 2023-2024.

The meetings were organized in accordance with the communiqué of the 2nd and 3rd meetings of the Ministers of Agriculture of the OTS held on 26 September 2023 and 20 March 2024, respectively. 

The aforementioned initiatives, supported by all the Ministers of Agriculture of the OTS countries, represent a significant step towards promoting economic cooperation, enhancing trade relations, innovation and promoting the rich cultural heritage of the Turkic States.

The welcoming and opening speeches of the meeting were delivered by Mr. Azad Jafarli, Chief of Staff of the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Mr. Tariyel Ibrahimov, Deputy Head of the Guba City Executive Authority and Mr. Farrukh Jumayev, Project Director of the OTS Secretariat.

During the meeting on “Establishment of Digital Agro-Data Platform” project, the authorized representatives and experts of Azerbaijan, Türkiye, Uzbekistan, Hungary, Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus made presentations on their existing agro-data digital platforms, data collection sources and mechanisms, exchanged their views on further steps of establishment of common digital platform within OTS.  

At the meeting on the “OTS Made” project, experts from Azerbaijan, Türkiye, Uzbekistan, Hungary, the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus and Kazakhstan (online) shared their current experiences and held discussions on the development of production of agricultural and processing products under a single brand "OTS Made", which will create robust supply chains, increase export and global competitiveness of Turkic products and promote economic resilience in the Turkic region.

The parties adopted the communiqué of the meetings and agreed to prepare the concept and general roadmap for both projects in the coming period.

On the margins of the meeting, experts from the Member and Observer States also visited “Agrarco LLC”, one of the leading  agricultural companies producing and exporting apple, peach, high-grade hazelnut and healthy fresh fruits.
