The Secretary General of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS) Ambassador Kubanychbek Omuraliev addressed the plenary session of the Eurasia Week of the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development entitled “Connecting Eurasia: Trade and Transport” on 14 December 2023 in Paris.

At the meeting, which was attended by representatives of OECD member and Eurasia partner countries as well as OECD partnering organizations, Ambassador Omuraliev, having informed on the OTS’s current and upcoming undertakings in the fields of trade, customs, transport and ICT cooperation, highlighted that the OTS is poised to play a pivotal role in enhancing the regional cooperation.

Keynote speakers of the session discussed the findings of the two reports published by the OECD on ‘Trade Facilitation in Central Asia’ and ‘Realizing the potential of the Trans-Caspian Middle Corridor’ and exchanged views on possible means for overcoming challenges related to trade and transport.
