On 16 December 2022, the second day of his working trip to the Republic of Azerbaijan H.E. Ambassador Kubanychbek Omuraliev, Secretary General of the Organization of Turkic States held a meeting with H.E. Rashad Nabiyev, Minister of Digital Development and Transport of the Republic of Azerbaijan in Baku.

After congratulating the Secretary General regarding the recent appointment, Minister Nabiyev outlined vast opportunities the Turkic region offers in transport and digitization.

Ambassador Omuraliev expressed his gratitude for the warm greeting and referred to Azerbaijan’s specific geographic location and key role in linking the continents of Asia and Europe. In this context, he referred to the importance of regional transport corridors passing through the territories of the Member States. He also expressed a strong belief in facilitation of transport and transit after entry into force of the Agreement on international combined freight transport among the Turkic States.

Both sides expressed their commitment to efficient and target-oriented work in the framework of OTS and concentrating on concrete projects with a practical outcome in order to implement the tasks given by the OTS Council of Heads of State.
