Secretary General of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS) H.E. Ambassador  Kubanychbek Omuraliev met with Secretary General of the Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO) H.E. Khusrav Noziri on 24 January 2023 in Tashkent.

Secretary General Noziri congratulated the Secretary General Omuraliyev on his appointment as the new the Secretary General of the OTS and extended his wishes of success in his term. Khusrav Noziri underlined that the ECO highly values partnership with the OTS and expressed readiness to further strengthen cooperation for the realization of shared objectives.

OTS Secretary General Omuraliyev congratulated Secretary General Noziri on the successful organization of the 26th ECO Council of Ministers Meeting and underscored that the two organizations could realize much of the potential and possibilities for deepening close cooperation in all areas for the mutual benefits of the Member States. 

Discussing further plans aimed at contributing to the welfare and progress of the vast region, Parties stressed the need to update in line with current realities the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for cooperation signed in 2014 and the Work Program developed in 2019, as well as to pursue the concrete goals and objectives and act together to avoid duplication of each other activities. 

Parties also discussed further strengthening the mechanisms of cooperation between the two Organizations in a more coordinated way and underlined the areas of mutual interest and prospective opportunities, especially in the field of economy, customs, transport and tourism.
