During his working trip to the Republic of Azerbaijan H.E.Ambassador Kubanychbek Omuraliev, Secretary General of the Organization of Turkic States held a meeting with H.E. Mikayil Jabbarov, Minister of Economy of the Republic of Azerbaijan on 16 December 2022 in Baku.

Having congratulated the Secretary General on his recent assignment, the Minister stressed the importance of strengthening multilateral economic ties under the umbrella of the OTS. Ambassador Omuraliev expressed his gratitude for the warm welcome and highlighted the key role of Azerbaijan in fostering the Turkic cooperation on trade, transport, transit, logistics and energy.

Both sides expressed their readiness for working towards enhancing the legal basis in the field of trade and commerce among the Turkic states, namely Free Trade Agreement on Services and Investments and Agreement on E-commerce, as well as on the Turkic Investment Fund. They also shared their views on the importance of simplification of trade and customs procedures.

Moreover, the sides agreed to apply all their efforts with a view of realization of concrete projects in the field of trade and economy.
