The Secretary-General of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS), H.E. Ambassador Kubanychbek Omuraliev, had a meeting with H.E. Donald Lu, Assistant Secretary of State for Southern and Central Asian Affairs of the United States of America, on February 21, 2024, in Washington DC.
After briefing Assistant Secretary Lu on the OTS, its history, and current goals aligned with the Turkic World Vision – 2040, Ambassador Omuraliev shared details of his current visit to the United States, as well as the upcoming panels to be organized with several American think tanks discussing the growing role of the OTS.
The Assistant Secretary expressed support for the Organization and readiness to work on developing OTS-US cooperation.
Touching upon pressing issues of the global agenda, the parties discussed important projects in the OTS region.
