In the framework of his visit to the United States, Ambassador Kubanychbek Omuraliev, the Secretary General of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS), held a meeting with H.E. Miroslav Jenča, the UN Assistant Secretary-General for Europe, Central Asia, and the Americas in the Department for Political & Peacebuilding Affairs and Peace Operations. The meeting took place at the UN Headquarters in New York on 15 February 2024.
The discussion focused on potential avenues to enhance the ongoing collaboration between the Organization of Turkic States and the United Nations. Both parties explored opportunities to strengthen relations and raise the visibility of the OTS within the UN. Additionally, the parties exchanged views on advancing the pending observer status application of the OTS within the UN General Assembly.
