OTS Social Policy Ministers had their first gathering
The first meeting of Ministers in charge of Social Policy of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS) was held on 17 May 2024 in Istanbul.
H.E. Ambassador Kubanychbek Omuraliev, Secretary General of the OTS addressed the inaugural meeting under the theme “Against the Risks of a Globalized World: Our Family is Our Future” hosted by H.E. Mahinur Özdemi̇r Göktaş, Minister of Family and Social Services of the Republic of Türkiye and attended by H.E. Cevdet Yılmaz, Vice President of the Republic of Türkiye.  H.E. Bahar Muradova, the Chair of the State Committee for Family, Women and Children Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan, H.E. Gulnara Baatyrova, Minister of Labor, Social Protection and Migration of the Kyrgyz Republic, H.E. Mansurbek Olloyorov, Director of the National Agency for Social Protection under the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, H.E. Nazgul Sagindykova, Vice-Minister of Labor and Social Protection of the Population of the Republic of Kazakhstan, H.E. Sadık Gardiyanoglu, Minister of Labour and Social Security of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus, H.E. Attila Fülöp, Secretary of State for Social Affairs, Ministry of the Interior of Hungary and H.E. Halbibi Tachjanova, Deputy Minister of Labour and Social Protection of Turkmenistan also participated in the meeting.
Having highlighted the importance of transmitting and perpetuating the diverse and deeply ingrained Turkic family values across generations, Ambassador Omuraliev in his speech expressed his confidence in that historical gathering would bring the Turkic unity to new heights.
Following the statements, the high-level participants signed the Declaration of the 1st meeting of Ministers in charge of Social Policy that includes concrete actions for developing the Turkic cooperation in the field of family affairs and social protection.
On the margins of the event, Secretary General Omuraliev had meetings with the Social Policy Ministers of OTS.
