Pelin Musabay Baki, Project Director of the Turkic Council participated in the Solution Forums took place on 1 November 2016 in Dubai within the framework of Global South South Development (GSSD) Expo 2016 organized by the UN Office for South South Cooperation (UNOSSC) and hosted by the Zayed International Foundation for Environment.
Numerous UN specialized agencies and units including UNDP, UNFPA, UNEP,ILO, FAO, IFAD were involved in the preparation and moderation of the Solution Forums. At the Forums, the ways and means to optimize the role of South-South and triangular cooperation towards the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals were discussed touching upon the economic, social and environmental aspects of the issue.
The best practices from different regions of the world were displayed by the speakers of the Forums. These practices valued the importance of knowledge and experience sharing through innovative and demand-driven methods in order to succesfully implement the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.
The speakers and participants of the Forums put forward their proposals to come up with concrete solutions to address the common development challenges of the Global South. The GSSD Expo 2016 will continue until 4 November 2016 with the high-level broad participation from North America, Latin America, Europe, Central Asia, Asia, Africa and Middle East.
